JAMESTOWN, N.D. (Augustana) – Augustana used dominant pitching and timely offense to sweep Jamestown on Saturday afternoon at Trapper Field, opening the day with a 2-0 shutout before securing the series with an 8-0 victory in six innings.

Teya Speltz delivered one of her strongest outings of the season in the opener, spinning a complete-game, two-hit shutout to lead the Vikings. Speltz struck out six and worked through four walks, consistently pitching out of traffic while keeping Jamestown off balance across all seven innings.
After a quiet first two innings, Augustana broke through in the third. Speltz helped jumpstart the offense with a leadoff single up the middle before advancing on a sacrifice bunt from Ella Cooper. With two outs, Desi Cuevas delivered, lining an RBI single to left field to plate Speltz and give the Vikings a 1-0 lead.
The Vikings added to their lead in the fourth inning. Kierra Lubovich reached on an infield error and moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt from Sidney Smart. Moments later, another Jamestown miscue allowed Stella Harber to reach and advance while Lubovich came around to score, extending the lead to 2-0.
Speltz took it from there. Jamestown threatened in the third inning with a pair of walks but Speltz recorded a strikeout to end the frame. In the fourth, she erased a leadoff single with a double play before settling into a rhythm over the final innings. She allowed just two hits total and did not surrender a runner past second base after the fourth inning.
At the plate, Cuevas led the Vikings with three hits and an RBI while Susie Tollefson added two hits. also recorded a hit as Augustana tallied eight hits in the win.
Augustana won the first game 2-0 and the second game 8-0.

The Vikings carried that momentum into game two, capitalizing early and breaking things open with a four-run third inning en route to an 8-0 run-rule victory.
Augustana wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Andrea Cain singled up the middle and advanced on a sacrifice bunt before scoring on a Jamestown throwing error. Later in the inning, aggressive baserunning paid off again as Susie Tollefson stole home following a sequence of errors, giving the Vikings a 2-0 lead.
The Vikings created separation in the third inning with a flurry of offense. Kierra Lubovich singled and later scored on a steal of home, while Ella Cooper drove in a run with a single. Bri Lee followed with the biggest swing of the inning, ripping a double to left center to bring home two more and push the lead to 6-0.
Augustana added insurance in the sixth. Cain doubled down the left field line and moved to third on a passed ball before scoring on a Cuevas RBI double. Lubovich followed with an RBI single to right field to extend the lead to 8-0 and put the run-rule into play.
In the circle, Helene Krage earned the win with four shutout innings, striking out seven while working around five hits. Jaelyn Garcia took over in the fifth and closed the door, allowing just one hit across two scoreless innings to preserve the shutout.
Offensively, Cain and Lubovich each recorded two hits while Cuevas added two hits and an RBI. Lee drove in two runs and Cooper chipped in an RBI as Augustana totaled nine hits and applied pressure throughout with aggressive baserunning, including multiple stolen bases.
