Following several incidents after the recent Scottish Cup meeting at Ibrox, Celtic have opted not to provide an away allocation for the post-split fixture scheduled for May 10 due to safety concerns that the Union Bears bring, meaning visiting Ibrox supporters are currently set to be absent.
The decision has drawn reactions from both clubs, prompting the SPFL to address the matter publicly.
In a brief statement released on its official website, the SPFL acknowledged the situation and outlined its position after reviewing feedback from Celtic and Rangers.

The statement read: “The SPFL today confirmed that it has received a request for a determination from Rangers in relation to their forthcoming William Hill Premiership match away to Celtic on Sunday 10 May.”
“This follows discussions between the two clubs failing to reach an agreement on the ticketing arrangements for the match and Celtic notifying Rangers that Celtic is not in a position to allocate any tickets to Rangers for visiting supporters for the match.”
An SPFL spokesperson added:
The dispute arises from safety concerns regarding the Union Bears, leading Celtic to withhold away tickets for the upcoming match.
The match is scheduled for May 10.
