The Pittsburgh Steelers signed tight end Jaheim Bell to a one-year deal on Monday. The deal is worth just over $1 million, but there are no guarantees.
Bell was selected in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots, after playing his college career at South Carolina and Florida State. The 24-year-old spent one year with the Patriots and was released at the end of training camp in 2025.
Bell then signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad on Oct. 15, but was released on Oct. 25. Pittsburgh then signed Bell to its practice squad on Dec. 31, 2025, for the rest of the 2025 season.
After signing a futures deal with the Eagles, Bell was waived on April 28 and now inked a one-year deal to return to Pittsburgh.
Bell adds more depth to the Steelers’ tight end room that currently features Darnell Washington, , Lake McRee, Chamon Metayer, and Bell.

In his NFL career, Bell has recorded two receptions for 20 yards. In college, he made more of an impact on offense as the 6-foot-2 tight end finished his four-year career with 95 receptions for 1,260 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Bell is a solid special teams player and will look to earn a spot on the 53-man roster due to his special teams play.
