The Dallas Cowboys had an outstanding Day 1 of the 2026 draft. They have to wait on the sidelines for much of Day 2, but that's because they've already reaped some rewards from those selections. That's because the Cowboys traded away their second and third-round picks from this class in moves over the past year.
Dallas first sent their third-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for wideout George Pickens last May. Then at the trade deadline in-season, they sent their second-round pick (along with the most valuable 2027 1st-round pick) to the New York Jets for DT Quinnen Williams. Now that Day 2 is more than two-thirds of the way done, it's now known what those teams did with the picks Dallas sent out.
First up was the Jets with No. 44. They didn't make the pick, though, instead sending it to the Detroit Lions in a subsequent trade. The Lions took defensive end Derrick Moore out of Michigan. In exchange, the Jets landed picks No. 50 and No. 128. At No. 50, they selected CFB championship DB D'Angelo Ponds from Indiana.
Meanwhile, the Steelers ended up in the No. 76 slot as their primary return for Pickens. With it still unknown what Aaron Rodgers is going to do (shocker), the Steelers selected Penn State quarterback Drew Allar.
