The NFL Draft in Pittsburgh is just over a week away, and one of the great Steelers of all time is coming back to the city for the occasion.
Hines Ward will be in attendance for the NFL Draft. The Super Bowl XL MVP is currently the wide receivers coach at Arizona State, and he will be on site to support Jordyn Tyson. Ward was asked if he had a preference on Tyson’s landing spot, and he acknowledged that the Steelers would make him happy.
“Wherever God wants him to be,” Ward said via Justin LaCertosa. “Of course, I’m a little biased toward the black and gold. But I’m excited. And I told all the scouts and all the teams – whatever team ends up drafting him, you’re gonna get a winner.”
Ward also pushed back on the questions about Tyson’s toughness.
“I chuckle sometimes because they try to write the narrative [that] he’s not physical and stuff like that… I say, ‘Listen, [Jordyn]. One thing about the NFL it’s a business. Anything they can do to get you at a cheaper rate, trust me they’re gonna do it.‘”
Tyson caught 61 passes in nine games in 2025, finding the end zone eight times. With the Steelers in need of a wide receiver, perhaps he could be the pick at No. 21.
