The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly interested in signing former Ravens Pro Bowler Kyle Van Noy to strengthen their edge rusher position. Van Noy, a versatile player, could provide much-needed depth and leadership to the team.
The Pittsburgh Steelers had an eventful offseason over the past few months, pulling off a blockbuster trade for a talented wide receiver, bringing in major free agency acquisitions, and putting together a high-upside 2026 NFL Draft class — but there's one more move the team is projected to make.
According to Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports, there's one versatile Pro Bowler that is an ideal free agency fit for the Steelers: former Baltimore Ravens edge rusher Kyle Van Noy.
"They don't have a ton of depth," Wilson said via CBS Sports HQ Spotlight. "Steelers fans would tell you they do at edge rusher. They don't. They do have T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. After that, Nick Herbig, who's in the last year of his rookie deal. And then, Jack Sawyer, who they got in Day 3 last year — who's a good player, not great yet. I think Van Noy adds versatility and that he can play off the edge, even though he's 35. He can play off ball linebacker. He can be the green dot guy and call the defense. And he can brings that locker room leadership that may be lacking now that Mike Tomlin has sailed off into the sunset to join us in the media."
Kyle Van Noy has recorded 561 combined tackles, 57 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, and four interceptions during his 12-year NFL career.
The Steelers lack depth at the edge rusher position beyond T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, making Van Noy's versatility and experience valuable for the team.
Kyle Van Noy has played for the Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, and Baltimore Ravens during his NFL career.

Van Noy, who was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft but made a name for himself with the New England Patriots, has recorded 561 combined tackles, 57 sacks, 14 forced fumbles, and four interceptions during his 12 year NFL career.
A capable backup at either edge rusher or inside linebacker, Van Noy would be a solid addition for the Steelers, but it's difficult to imagine the 2024 Pro Bowler would accept a depth role.
