Why is Joel Embiid not playing tonight? What to know about 76ers star's injuries
Joel Embiid will not play in Game 2 against the Knicks due to injuries.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are reshaping their wide receiver lineup after a disappointing season, highlighted by the acquisition of Michael Pittman Jr. and the drafting of two new receivers. DK Metcalf is projected to start as the primary receiver.
Last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers went all-in on wide receiver DK Metcalf being the man for the passing game but things didn't go exactly according to plan. Metcalf didn't play as well as anticipated and the rest of the receivers on the team fell flat. So much so, a case could be made the most consistent weapon in the passing game was running back Kenneth Gianwell.
You could tell the top priority for new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy was to get the wide receiver position in order and it started with a trade for former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. Then, the team drafted not one but two wide receivers to replace the Steelers who left via free agency.
Here's our early projection for the Steelers wide receiver depth chart:
Starter - DK Metcalf
Starter - Michael Pittman Jr.
Starter - Germie Bernard
Backup - Roman Wilson
Backup - Ben Skowronek
Backup - Kaden Wetjen
As much as we love the starting trio of Metcalf, Pittman and Bernard, that depth is nothing to get excited about. Wilson is completely untested as a pro and Skowronek and Wetjen are both on the roster for the special teams prowess, not receiving skills. This group is one injury away from falling apart and the team might have to consider an upgrade to one of the reserves, meaning Wilson.
