The Pittsburgh Steelers made a significant move during the first week of free agency by acquiring Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr.
Even though the Steelers secured Pittman, they could still be looking to add another intriguing receiver in the first round of this year's NFL draft, and that is exactly what CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles anticipates will happen.
Pereles released a mock draft on Sunday, predicting that the Steelers will select Cooper with the 21st pick.
"At this point in his career, Aaron Rodgers wants to get the ball out quickly and have his pass catchers get YAC," Pereles wrote. "That fits Omar Cooper Jr. to a T. He gets open, he catches the ball, and he eats up yards. With DK Metcalf as a deep threat and Michael Pittman Jr. as the physical, tough catch guy, Cooper slots in perfectly in the slot."
Cooper played four seasons at Indiana, recording 115 receptions for 1,798 receiving yards and scoring 22 touchdowns over 42 games.
It's uncommon to see a college football player stick with the same program for four years, especially in Indiana, where it struggled during his first two seasons. However, his perseverance paid off, as the Hoosiers clinched the championship title this past season.
