The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Iowa offensive tackle Gennings Dunker with the 96th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Dunker, a fan favorite, could fill the left guard position for the team.
Just before day two of the 2026 NFL Draft came to an end, another Iowa Hawkeye heard his name called. And he won't need to change his jersey colors.
With the 96th overall pick in the third round of the draft, Hawkeye offensive tackle Gennings Dunker was taken by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Dunker joined his fellow Iowa offensive lineman, Logan Jones, as an NFL draft pick on Friday. He's the second offensive tackle that the Steelers have drafted this weekend so far, joining Max Iheanachor of Arizona State. With an opening at left guard currently, it looks like Dunker could end up there long term in the Steel City.
Dunker started 38 games at Iowa across three seasons, making most of those starts at right tackle. He was one of the anchors of a line that won the Joe Moore Award in 2025. His personality, along with his mullet, has made him a fan favorite across NFL draft circles, and now he's finally found a home.
It feels like Dunker is a prototypical Steeler who will fit well with the physical offensive line being built in Pittsburgh. This could end up being one of the biggest steals of the entire draft.
