Apart from the COVID-shortened 2019-2020 season, the Golden State Warriors put together their worst record since the 2011-12 lockout season (23-43) after being decimated by injuries throughout the year.
Following their regular season finale against the Los Angeles Clippers, Stephen Curry spoke to the media, addressing his thoughts on the Play-In Tournament.
“Grateful for it now because you have one game and hopefully another to keep your season alive,” said Curry after realizing that Golden State has made the tournament twice as a 10 seed.
Since the implementation of the Play-In Tournament permanently (2020-21), the Warriors have found themselves in that spot in four out of six seasons.
Curry went on to say: "This is such a unique year just because of the way it's gone. It's not like we've underperformed; we've just been hit with so many injuries that your expectation had to shift because of availability."
With the majority of their main contributors healthy (excluding Jimmy Butler III), Golden State will have a chance to prove themselves Wednesday in an elimination game.
