Steve Kerr contract details: Warriors retain head coach on two-year deal after brief flirtation with retirement

Kerr made $17.5 million in 2026, higher than any other coach. With the second-highest salary sitting at $15 million, Kerr will be paid more than that in 2026-27.

Despite the end-of-year speculation about the Warriors moving on, Kerr was at peace with whatever decision was made.

"I still love coaching, but I get it," Kerr said after the Warriors were eliminated. "These jobs all have an expiration date. There is a run that happens, and when the run ends, sometimes, it's time for new blood and new ideas."

Well, it seems Kerr has not reached his expiration date just yet, with two more years in San Francisco.
