Elijah Mallard set another record at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championships. Syracuse's rowing teams had mixed results, with the women's team finishing second to Princeton and the 3V8 boat winning their race.
Weâre back today to get you caught up on the latest from Syracuseâs Olympic Sports as the spring sports calendar ramps up.
Rowing:
The #8 Orange women were 2nd to the #6 Princeton Tigers in the top two V8 races, while Syracuseâs 3V8 boat won their race at the Ivy Invite.
The Syracuse crews will next compete against Ohio State and Michigan at the Big 10/ACC duals on April 25th.
On the menâs side, the #9 Orange were 4th behind #2 Cal, #11 Yale and #5 Brown in the morning race at Princeton. Syracuse came back in the afternoon session to defeat #10 Penn and next up is the Goes Trophy against Navy and Cornell.
Softball (14-17, 3-10):
Syracuse got their first ACC series win of the season as they took two out of three at Boston College over the weekend. The series was full of late-game heroics. The Orange won the first game 4-1 on a 7th inning home run from Madison Knight.

Syracuse won the second game 6-4 in 9 innings with Rose Cano delivering the game-winning pinch-hit. In Sundayâs finale, the Orange held a late lead, but BC rallied in their final at-bat to win 7-6.
Syracuse will host Colgate on Wednesday and Notre Dame this weekend.
Track and Field:
The highlight of this weekendâs competition was a new Syracuse school record in the 400m hurdles as Elijah Mallard ran a 49.97. This was his 3rd school record of 2026 and he has a top-10 time in the nation in the event.

Jamir Brown took the win in the 110m hurdles in a time of 13.58 seconds.
Syracuse will have athletes competing at Albany and Virginia next weekend.
Tennis (7-12, 3-9):
The Orange knocked off #60 Georgia Tech by a 4-1 score on Friday and fell to #24 Clemson 4-1 on Sunday. In the win over Georgia Tech, Syracuse got the doubles point and singles match wins from Serafima Shastova, Monika Wojcik, and Leena Bennetto.
Next up for the Orange is the ACC Championship where Syracuse will face Wake Forest, who the Orange beat 4-3 in the regular season.
