The Auburn Tigers' momentum on the recruiting trail continues to grow as a top-15 offensive tackle from the 2027 recruiting cycle has included the Tigers in his top four.
Layton von Brandt, a four-star offensive lineman from Middletown, Delaware, recently dropped his top four schools, which include the Auburn Tigers. Auburn is now in a fierce battle with SEC rival Florida, as well as Notre Dame and Penn State for the No. 1 player from Delaware, and the No. 5 offensive tackle from the cycle.
The Appoquinimink High School product recently visited Auburn during the Tigers' spring session. According to Corey Bender of Rivals, von Brandt connected well with new Auburn head coach Alex Golesh and complimented the facilities. However, Auburn appears to be low in the race for von Brandt, as a crystal ball prediction from 247Sports favors von Brant to sign with Notre Dame. However, von Brandt has not set an official commitment date and has not taken an official visit to Auburn. The vibes could change quickly during the summer months, and momentum could shift in Auburn's favor.
Auburn football ranks No. 42 in 247Sports' 2027 recruiting rankings with five commitments. However, a bulk of Auburn's pledges have committed to Golesh and the Tigers over the last three weeks. Wide receiver Brylan Oduor is the Tigers' recent commitment, announcing last Saturday. Three-star tight end George Lamons, three-star offensive lineman Jaylon Moore, and four-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook have all pledged to Auburn since April 18.
