Team Canada has announced their roster for the 2026 World Hockey Championships in Switzerland later this month.
The roster consists of 23 players: 12 forwards, eight defensemen and three goalies.
Forwards:
The forwards include Mathew Barzal, Connor Brown, Macklin Celebrini, Dylan Cozens, Emmitt Finnie, Dylan Holloway, Fraser Minten, Ryan O'Reilly, Mark Scheifele, John Tavares, Robert Thomas, and Gabriel Vilardi.
The roster consists of 23 players, including 12 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 3 goalies.
The 2026 World Hockey Championships will be held in Switzerland later this month.

The roster was put together by former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager (GM) Brad Treliving and Jason Spezza as well as Kyle Dubas.
In a statement regarding the roster, Dubas had this to say:
“The roster for the 2026 IIHF world championship showcases tremendous commitment from some of the very best players in hockey representing Canada internationally, and we thank our 23 players for their commitment to playing for their country,” Dubas said in a statement. “The roster named today combines players who have represented Canada at the very highest level with young players who have the potential to be impact players for Team Canada for years to come, and veteran players with excellent national men’s team and Stanley Cup experience that will provide guidance and leadership.”
He also said that he feels that this team has the chance to compete for a gold medal.
“The 2026 Men’s Worlds represents a great opportunity for Canada to compete against the best nations in the world," Dubas added. "The players and our entire staff are a group that we expect to earn the chance to compete for a gold medal, and it is an opportunity and challenge that we will not take lightly in Switzerland.”
The World's run from May 15 to 31 in Zürich and Fribourg, Switzerland. Canada opens their tournament against Sweden on May 15th. After that, they will face off against Italy, Denmark, Norway, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Czechia. All before the medal rounds, where they will be trying to add to their 51 medals since 1931, more specifically, add another gold.
