From football to fĂștbol. Cincinnati Bengals center Ted Karras teamed up with FC Cincinnati for a special, limited-edition 513 Day hat ahead of the team's highly-anticipated matchup against Lionel Messi and Inter Miami on May 13 (aka 513 Day).
Karras' organization, the Cincy Hat Foundation, is releasing the FC Cincinnati hat May 6. The collab will benefit Karras' foundation, as well as the FC Cincinnati Foundation, which focuses on improving the lives of children through soccer and community initiatives.
"FC Cincinnati's collaboration with the Cincy Hat is incredible," said Karras, who will also serve as the pre-match "sword puller" when FC Cincinnati hosts Inter Miami CF at TQL Stadium. "Cincinnati is a special place, and the way this community rallies behind its teams and our neighbors is second to none. Iâm grateful to be a part of it, excited to pull the sword on 513 Day, and ready to watch FC Cincy bring home a win against Inter Miami next week."
Karras worked out with FCC defender Nick Hagglund ahead of the collab.
Hagglund, a Cincinnati native and Xavier University alum, said the collaboration is a "fun crossover of Cincinnati sports and two incredible charities."
"On a personal note, as a Cincinnati kid and life-long Fan, it is a pleasure to represent Cincinnati and stand by Ted to help amplify the needs of our city," Hagglund said. "Ted's ambition to help the (intellectual and developmental disabilities) community and FCC's drive to impact the lives of over 100,000 kids each year through soccer will only continue to make Cincinnati a better place."
The 513 Day hat release celebrates Cincinnati's local culture and supports charitable initiatives through Karras' and FC Cincinnati's foundations.
The limited-edition 513 Day hat will be available for purchase starting May 6.
Proceeds from the hat will support the Cincy Hat Foundation and the FC Cincinnati Foundation, both focused on improving children's lives through soccer and community programs.

513 Day is an unofficial holiday in Cincinnati, as May, the fifth month of the year, combined with the 13th, makes the numbers 513, the area code encompassing Hamilton County and parts of Butler, Warren and Clermont counties.
However, the area code ran out of available phone numbers in 2023. To combat this, people who receive new phone numbers could get the new area code 283.
