Tee Higgins just revealed the goals that could change the Bengals’ offense in 2026

It also continued a trend.

Higgins now has back-to-back seasons with double-digit touchdown receptions despite battling injuries and inconsistent availability. Over the last two years, he has missed time with hamstring, rib and concussion issues, preventing him from building the kind of statistical consistency that once made him one of the league’s top rising receivers.

Still, the production when healthy has remained impressive. Before the injury-heavy stretch, Higgins recorded consecutive 1,000-yard seasons in 2021 and 2022 while helping lead Cincinnati to a Super Bowl LVI appearance and another deep AFC playoff run.

Bengals offense could become even more dangerous

The scary part for opposing defenses is that Higgins is not even the only elite receiver in Cincinnati. With Ja'Marr Chase on one side and Higgins on the other, the Bengals arguably still have the NFL’s best receiving duo when both players are available. Add in a healthy Joe Burrow, and it is easy to understand why expectations remain high despite Cincinnati finishing just 6-11 last season.

The Bengals’ offense still ranked among the league’s more explosive passing attacks, but late-game execution and defensive issues repeatedly cost them wins. Higgins recently pointed to closing out games as one of the team’s biggest areas for improvement entering 2026.

That makes his personal goals feel connected to something bigger. If Higgins can stay on the field for a full season while rediscovering his 1,000-yard form, Cincinnati’s offense could look much closer to the unit that once came within minutes of winning a Super Bowl.

Health may decide everything for Cincinnati

Availability has become the biggest storyline surrounding Higgins over the last three seasons. He played just 12 games in both 2023 and 2024 before appearing in 15 games last season. Burrow also dealt with injuries during portions of that stretch, making it difficult for the Bengals to fully recapture the chemistry that once made them one of the AFC’s most feared offenses.

Even so, Higgins has already built an impressive résumé since entering the league in 2020. He has totaled more than 5,400 receiving yards and 45 touchdowns during his NFL career while establishing himself as one of Burrow’s most trusted targets.

Now, the 27-year-old receiver appears focused on proving there is still another level he can reach. And if Higgins hits both of the goals he mentioned, 1,000 yards and double-digit touchdowns,  the Bengals may find themselves back in the middle of the AFC playoff picture.
