Tennessee basketball has added VCU forward Christian Fermin to strengthen its frontcourt. Fermin, a 6-foot-10 senior, committed to the Vols on May 14 after starting all games last season.

Tennessee basketball needed to finalize its frontcourt depth, so it turned to a teammate of incoming transfer Terrence Hill Jr.
Senior VCU forward Christian Fermin committed to the Vols on May 14, per a CBS Sports report.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Fermin played three seasons with the Rams. He started all 38 games in the 2023-24 season, and played alongside Hill in 2024-25. He averaged 4.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 blocks and shot 54.4% from the floor.
Fermin only played four games last season before leaving due to a personal matter.
Fermin was a former three-star prospect in high school and was the No. 5 overall player in Pennsylvania in the 247Sports Composite. The Pocono Mountain West High School product received power conference offers from Pittsburgh and Penn State.

Tennessee's frontcourt now runs four players deep with the addition of Fermin. The Vols returned freshman forward DeWayne Brown, signed transfer center Miles Rubin (Loyola Chicago) and forward Braedan Lue (Kennesaw State).
Christian Fermin averaged 4.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 54.4% from the floor during the 2023-24 season.

Tennessee's roster is nearly complete for the 2026-27 season. The Vols signed seven transfers to pair with their four high school additions and two returning players, Brown and guard Troy Henderson. With Fermin, they have 14 of 15 scholarship roster spots filled.
The Vols significantly boosted their 2026 high school class on April 16 by adding the top recruit in Tennessee, 6-9 forward Chris Washington Jr, teaming him up with 6-8 four-star forward Ralph Scott. They also signed two three-star recruits in 6-6 wing Manny Green and 6-1 guard Marquis Clark.
From the portal, Tennessee acquired Wake Forest guard Juke Harris, Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade, Cal guard Dai Dai Ames, Loyola (Chicago) center Miles Rubin, Notre Dame forward Jalen Haralson, VCU guard Terrence Hill and Kennesaw State forward Braeden Lue.
