After trading back into the first round to select edge Keldric Faulk on Thursday, it took some time, but the Tennessee Titans finally made a pick at No. 60 in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft after trading up a few spots to select Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.
Hill is a three-year starter in Austin and a playmaker for the Texas Longhorns, recording 17.0 sacks and forcing 11 turnovers in his career. A downhill thumper, he has the athleticism and upside to develop into an impact linebacker.
Not familiar with Hill? Never fear, here are five things to know about the newest Titans linebacker.
In high school, Hill was not only a standout football player at Billy Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, but he also competed in Track & Field in both the triple jump and relay teams.
After starring on the football field and being named the MVP of District 5-5A and the All-Area Defensive Player of the Year by the Denton Record-Chronicle, he was rated a five-star recruit and was ranked as the top linebacker in his class nationally by several major recruiting services.
Hill just turned 21 on Valentine's Day, but brings three years of high-level starting experience; he bypassed his senior year to enter the draft. During his final seasons, he was named on the Lott Trophy, Bronko Nagurski Trophy, Butkus Award, Walter Camp Award, Chuck Bednarik Award, and Lombardi Award watchlists before seeing his final regular-season games wiped out by a hand injury.
At 6-foot-2, 238 pounds, he put on a show at the NFL Scouting Combine, recording a 4.51-second 40-yard dash and completing 21 reps on the bench press.
Hill was a game-changer at Texas and had a habit of making game-defining plays when needed. He was a fixture in opponentsâ backfields and a leader of the defense.
