Day 3 of the 2026 NFL draft is well underway, and after what felt like an eternity, the Tennessee Titans finally made the first of five picks on Saturday, selecting Arkansas guard Fernando Carmona with pick No. 142.
With the pick, general manager Mike Borgonzi stuck to his goal of building the offensive line and selected another player with tremendous leadership and a high motor. Versatile, he has experience at both guard and tackle in his career, split between Arkansas and San Jose State.
Here are three things to know about the Titans' latest addition.
Carmona attended Las Vegas High School, where he played basketball, tennis, and volleyball before adding football to his resume as a junior, playing tight end and being named second-team all-league in his only season, with his senior year wiped out by COVID-19.
Even after having only one season of organized football, Carmona did enough to earn a three-star ranking heading into college and originally committed to San Jose State Spartans.
Carmona played the all-important left tackle position at San Jose State and earned honorable mention All-Mountain West Conference (MWC) honors before entering the transfer portal and landing in Arkansas. With the Razorbacks, he was a team captain and earned second-team and third-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) honors. He concluded his collegiate career with 50 games played, 49 as a starter, and was invited to the 2026 Senior Bowl.
