Terron Armstread says Dolphins first round pick Kadyn Proctor was “highly sought after”

The Miami Dolphins shocked their fanbase last Thursday when they selected Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor with the twelfth pick in the 2026 NFL Draft after trading back one spot with the Dallas Cowboys — passing on two fan favorites, Caleb Downs and Reuben Bain Jr., in the process.

While many of Miami’s fans were left stunned after the pick, apparently front offices around the National Football League were not, as they viewed Proctor as one of the best players in the entire draft. Speaking on his podcast, The Set, Armstead had this to say about the Dolphins’ selection of Proctor:

“You cannot, for one second, undervalue quality, high-level offensive linemen. You can’t have too many… You have to bring in top talent — elite talent, elite ability — guys that are willing to come in and make a difference. Kadyn Proctor gives you that. His potential, his ceiling is through the roof… I’ve known Kadyn for four years now.. I’ve watched him mature. I’ve watched him grow. I’ve watched his technique develop over time. It’s only going to improve — only going to get better.
