The Texans won't be traveling to Duval County, but instead hit the road to head international, with kickoff at Wembley Stadium in London for an 8:30 a.m. kickoff time against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced Wednesday morning.
The game will be televised on NFL Network.
The Week 6 battle marks the first time Houston has played overseas since the 2019 season, when the Texans secured a trip to the postseason under then-coach Bill O'Brien. Houston also played the Jaguars and won in a 26-3 battle at Wembley Stadium on Nov. 3.
“We are proud to return to London and the iconic Wembley Stadium this season,” Texans CEO and chair Cal McNair said. “We look forward to competing against the Jaguars and contributing to the continued global growth of the NFL. As we celebrate 25 seasons of Houston Texans football, this marks another significant moment for our organization and for Texans fans in Houston and around the world.”
This marks just the third international game for Houston in franchise history and the second in the United Kingdom. The Texans also lost to the Las Vegas Raiders in Mexico City back in 2016 as part of the first international game played in Mexico.
With the game being a divisional round matchup, plus it being against Jacksonville, this will count as a road trip for Houston, meaning it'll welcome the Jaguars on a later date. The Texans will welcome the Jaguars on a later date as part of their eight home matchups.
The Texans vs. Jaguars game is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. London time.
The Texans last played overseas in the 2019 season.
