Texas A&M baseball features three players in the SEC OPS top 10, showcasing a powerful offense. Caden Sorrell, Gavin Grahovac, and Bear Harrison all exceed an OPS of 1.100.
One of the most meaningful shifts this season, outside of adding assistant coach Cliff Pennington, has been Michael Earley reassuming full control of the hitting. The results speak for themselves. Even with half the lineup made up of underclassmen, Texas A&M has one of the most complete, consistent, and dangerous offenses in the SEC.
A key metric illustrating that dominance is OPS (onâbase percentage plus slugging percentage). Because it captures walks, hitâbyâpitch, and extraâbase power, OPS gives a far more complete picture of a hitterâs value than batting average alone. At this level, elite hitters sit above 1.000, while strong teams typically hover somewhere in the .900 range.
Texas A&M isnât just clearing that bar; theyâre blowing past it. The Aggies have six players at 1.000 or better, and among hitters with at least 100 atâbats, four are above the elite threshold.
Most impressively, three veteran Aggies rank inside the SECâs top 10:
Each brings a different offensive profile, but all three combine onâbase ability with legitimate power. Harrisonâs emergence is especially important. After struggling early but reaching base via hitâbyâpitch nearly every game, heâs now producing consistent contact and adding real pop to the bottom third of the lineup.
Grahovac has rediscovered his power stroke, launching five home runs in his last six games, while also leading the team in hits and triples. Sorrell continues to be the Aggiesâ most explosive bat, pacing the roster in home runs (18) and RBI (59). Even with some swingâandâmiss, he finds ways to reach base and when he connects, itâs usually for extra bases.
