Texas A&M basketball has released its 2026-27 roster and jersey numbers, featuring several new transfers. Notable additions include Kansas State transfer PJ Haggerty wearing No. 4 and McNeese transfer Tyshawn Archie in No. 8.
Ahead of tipoff for the second season of the Bucky McMillan era at Texas A&M, the Aggies officially released the full roster and jersey numbers for 2026-27.
The roster includes many newcomers who will make their debuts in the Maroon and White this year. That list includes talented transfer additions McMillan signed in this offseason after reaching the second round of the NCAA Tournament in his first season at the helm. According to On3 Sports, Texas A&M has the No. 17 transfer portal class in college basketball.
McMillan's recruiting class includes one of the nation's top scorers, Kansas State transfer PJ Haggerty, who will wear No. 4 for the Aggies in 2026. Highly touted McNeese transfer Tyshawn Archie will wear No. 8, LMU transfer Jalen Shelley chose No. 1 and Tennessee transfer Cade Phillips earned No. 12. Typically, the player who receives No. 12 is a captain voted on by his teammates.
Meanwhile, returning veteran Zach Clemence and former McDonald's All-American Mackenzie Mgbako will keep their numbers from last year.
After having just one scholarship player on the roster when he arrived last spring, McMillan transformed the team by utilizing the transfer portal and building a roster centered on a high-paced style of basketball. "Bucky Ball" ranked among the top-scoring offenses in the country as the Aggies secured a win over Saint Mary's in the first round of the NCAA Tournament before being eliminated by No. 2 seed Houston.
Many players from last year's squad entered the portal and transferred to new teams, but Texas A&M has rebuilt and appears to be a serious threat in the Southeastern Conference in 2026.
