2026 RBC Heritage leaderboard, scores: Ludvig Åberg grabs first-round lead as Viktor Hovland finds his groove

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko humorously evaluated star wide receiver KC Concepcion, who has emerged as a top NFL prospect after a standout season with 61 receptions, 919 yards, and 9 touchdowns. Concepcion's performance has made him a key player to watch in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Texas A&M's 2025 roster was chock-full of NFL talent, led by three potential first-round NFL Draft selections, as edge Cashius Howell, offensive lineman Chase Bisontis, and wide receiver KC Concepcion are all expected to start within their first two seasons at the next level. Where the three players get drafted will be decided next week, but right now, Concepcion could be the first to hear his name called.
After transferring from NC State before the 2025 season, Concepcion instantly became Texas A&M's No. 1 receiver, possessing elite traits, led by his NFL-level speed and quickness, resulting in a team-high 61 receptions, 919 yards, and 9 touchdowns, including two punt return scores against UTSA and LSU.
This time last year, Concepcion arrived in College Station and immediately became a star during the spring practice period, outshining what ended up being a solid secondary, while making starting quarterback Marcel Reed look much better in the pocket, leading to his career year under center. Wherever Concepcion is drafted, third-year coach Mike Elko is thrilled to watch his development at the next level.
On Tuesday, just four days before the Aggies finish the spring season after Saturday's Maroon & White Spring Game, Elko, in regular fashion, made an appearance on "The Hardline," the afternoon drivetime show on sports station 96.7 The Ticket in Dallas-Fort Worth, providing his own comical evaluation of what KC Concepcion will bring to the NFL.
“In spring we were a little worried, we thought either our secondary sucked or KC Concepcion was really good”
Yes, Concepcion is that special of a talent, and while Mike Elko and the rest of the Aggie staff are sad to see him go, it was always expected that his time in College Station would be highly successful, but short-lived. The 2026 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 23.
