Texas A&M's recruiting hot streak is close to reaching epic proportions after the Aggies received a prediction to land 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson on Monday afternoon, which was expected based on the recent intel from On3 after five-star CB John Meredith's visit to the Texas Longhorns late last month.
While Dobson's future decision will come down to the Aggies and the LSU Tigers, AggieYell insider Joseph Hastings has continued his road trip visiting a long list of priority 2027 prospects that coach Mike Elko and his staff are pursuing, including blue-chip four-star edge Frederick Ards III, who already has a relationship with defensive line coach Elijah Robinson going back to his brief career at Syracuse.
Already landing five-star Zyron Forstall and four-star Kaden McCarty, Texas A&M's future edge rotation is reaching elite levels, and the Aggies aren't looking to stop adding talent and are looking to lock down Frederick Ards in the near future.
According to Hastings, Texas A&M's challengers include South Carolina and Alabama, both of whom Ards' mom is also a fan of outside the Aggies. Set to take an official visit to College Station on May 28-30, he'll head to Tuscaloosa for an OV with the Crimson Tide in early June. Still, even at this early stage, Hastings is confident that Texas A&M is in great shape.
"I’m not ready to make a prediction yet, but I think A&M is right there and if I had to choose today, I’d lean toward the Aggies. His official visit later this month will be a massive one for the program, especially with him moving it up two weeks and it now taking place before the Bama trip."
As we've seen with past recruits, especially in the 2027 cycle, official visits to Texas A&M usually result in a commitment. Starting with the month, the commitments will likely continue to pile up, based on intel from the AggieYell team over the past couple of weeks.
Predictions indicate that Texas A&M is likely to land five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, especially following recent visits.
Frederick Ards III is a blue-chip four-star edge prospect with a prior relationship with Texas A&M's defensive line coach Elijah Robinson.
Frederick Ards III is scheduled for an official visit to Texas A&M from May 28-30.
