Texas A&M predicted to land five-star cornerback target

The Texas A&M Aggies already have the No. 1 recruiting class in the country, and one expert thinks it is only going to get better.

Steve Wiltfong of Rivals has logged a prediction for the Aggies to land five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, a top 10 player in the 2027 recruiting class, and one of Texas A&M's top remaining targets. The Aggies are competing with the LSU Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Auburn Tigers, and South Carolina Gamecocks for him. Wiltfong previously favored LSU, but has reportedly changed his mind after speaking with Dobson.

Dobson is from Cornelius, North Carolina, and has visited Texas A&M several times during his recruitment. They offered him a scholarship back in September of 2024 and are scheduled to host him on an official visit on June 5, giving them a great chance to lock in his commitment.

He is ranked as the No. 9 overall player and No. 3 cornerback in the Rivals industry ranking. He is also the No. 1 player from North Carolina.

Mike Elko and the rest of Texas A&M's coaching staff have done an excellent job on the recruiting trail and have already landed commitments from 13 recruits, four of whom are ranked as five-star prospects. Dobson would give Texas A&M arguably the best defensive back class in the country, with five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey and five-star cornerback Raylan Henry already committed.

Dobson isn't the only five-star prospect they are involved with, either. They are also the favorites for five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews, the top offensive tackle in the country.
