Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko officially entered his third season at the helm this spring, officially saying goodbye to more than a dozen players from the 2025 roster, including unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell, star wide receiver KC Concepcion, and four of five starting offensive linemen.
While the spring season and the annual Maroon & White Game took over, Elko and his staff are taking time this weekend to watch their former stars hear their names called in the 2026 NFL Draft, and since KC Concepcion was selected with the 24th overall pick by the Cleveland Browns, six more Aggies were off the board during the second and third rounds on Friday night, which is a program record.
As soon as the second round began, former starting left guard Chase Bisontis was selected 34th overall by the Arizona Cardinals, who are in dire need of interior O-line help, as the New Jersey native is slated to earn a starting spot at left or right guard. Just seven picks later, the Cincinnati Bengals picked Cashius Howell 41st overall, and will join for Texas A&M edge Shemar Stewart, who was the Aggies' lone 2025 first-round pick.
15 picks later, the most shocking selection of the draft thus far likely surprised the man himself, as tight end Nate Boerkicher, who spent one season with the Aggies after transferring from Nebraska, became the first of two Texas A&M players selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars after veteran defensive tackle Albert Regis was picked 81st overall by the franchise in the third round.

Before Regis was off the board, defensive tackle Tyler Onyedim, who also played just one season for the Aggies in Elko's 4-2-5 scheme, recorded a career-high 48 tackles and 2.5 sacks, while serving as the Aggies' most reliable interior pass rusher for most of the season.
Finally, the most reliable offensive lineman in recent memory, Trey Zuhn III, was the final Aggie selected with the 91st-overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, set to play either tackle or center, and will now block for No. 1-overall pick, quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
After Zuhn's name was called, Texas A&M officially set its new program record for the most NFL draft selections within the first 100 picks, as an AggieYell insider stated that the Aggies never produced more than five top-100 picks in 1977, 1987, 1994, 1996, and 2003.
This further proves that Mike Elko's development strategy is paying off, and given the talent on the 2026 roster, this is just the start.
