Bournemouth reach agreement to appoint Rose as Iraola successor
Bournemouth has reached an agreement to appoint Marco Rose as their new head coach, succeeding Andoni Iraola.
Texas basketball has secured a commitment from Isaiah Johnson, a transfer from Colorado, to bolster their backcourt scoring. Johnson averaged 16.9 points per game last season and is expected to take on a starting role alongside incoming recruit Austin Goosby.
Texas basketball coach Sean Miller knew that finding some scoring punch in the backcourt topped his list of offseason priorities after guards Tramon Mark, Chendall Weaver and Jordan Pope used up their eligibility and reserve guard Simeon Wilcher entered the transfer portal.
Thatâs why Saturdayâs commitment from Colorado transfer Isaiah Johnson proved especially important.
Johnson, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound Los Angeles native, led Colorado in scoring with 16.9 points per game on 48.6% shooting from the field and 37.8% from 3-point range. He appeared in 32 games with 15 times starts for a team that went 17-16 and 7-11 in the Big 12.
Much like Pope, Johnson may have point guard size but plays more like a combo guard based on his ability to score at all three levels. He averaged 3.0 assist to go with 2.9 rebounds a game and seems likely to slide into a starting role in the backcourt alongside 6-5 McDonald's All-American recruit Austin Goosby.

The signing of Johnson and the return of Matas Vokietaitis give Miller some good news since a wave of departures following a 79-77 loss to Purdue March 26 in the Sweet 16. Forward Dailyn Swain declared for the NBA draft after an All-SEC junior season. Miller also lost starting forward Cam Heide and reserve forward Nic Codie to the transfer portal, along with Wilcher
The loss of seven of the eight players in the Longhornsâ NCAA Tournament rotation left severalholes to fill, but Johnson fills one of those gaps.
Texas currently has five frontcourt players expected on its roster for next season: Vokietaitis, rising sophomore Declan Duru, rising redshirt freshmen John Clark and Lewis Obiorah, and incoming freshman Coleman Elkins.
Miller will welcome in a four-player recruiting class that also includes a pair of shooting guards in Bo Ogden and Joe Sterling. Ogden, the son of Texas general manager Chris Ogden, recently earned the All-CenTex player of the year award from the Austin American-Statesman after leading Westlake High School to the state tournament.
Isaiah Johnson led Colorado with an average of 16.9 points per game, shooting 48.6% from the field and 37.8% from three-point range.
Texas needed to enhance their backcourt scoring after losing guards Tramon Mark, Chendall Weaver, and Jordan Pope to eligibility and with reserve guard Simeon Wilcher entering the transfer portal.
Isaiah Johnson is expected to slide into a starting role in the backcourt, likely playing alongside 6-5 recruit Austin Goosby.
