Texas football has added former Michigan State linebacker Darius Snow from the transfer portal. Snow, who recorded 154 tackles in six seasons, aims to regain his form with the Longhorns as they pursue a national title.
With the start of the 2026 college football season quickly approaching the Texas Longhorns are still adding to their roster. On Thursday former Michigan State linebacker Darius Snow committed to Texas. As the Longhorns chase a national title, Snow will be an important depth piece for a defense full of talent.
During his time as a Spartan, Snow recorded 154 total tackles and two pass deflections. He also added one sack and one interception to his resume in six seasons. While the Texas native has battled injuries at times, he has been a productive piece when healthy and caught the eyes of Steve Sarkisian and his staff.
His best play came during the 2021 campaign, when the newest Longhorn recorded 87 tackles, including 5.5 for a loss. Snow then struggled to build on his success due to an injury that forced him to miss most of the 2022 and 2023 seasons. With one year of eligibility remaining, Snow will be hoping to rediscover his 2021 form while playing for a new program.
Coming out of high school, Snow was ranked as the No. 414 overall prospect and 31st best safety in his class by Rivals. He was ranked as the tenth-best player in the portal by On3. In the Longhorns' defense, he should be able to improve his game with less pressure on his shoulders.
Over the last few days, the Longhorns have been busy putting the final touches on the 2026 team. They also secured a commitment from three-star recruit Brinley Tita earlier this week. With Tita and Snow now in the mix, the Longhorns should be in good shape to withstand any injury.
For Sarkisian and his staff, the focus will now be on getting this roster ready to chase a national title.
