Texas is making a strong push to flip five-star recruit Honor Faāalave-Johnson from USC. Coaches from Texas have already visited him, aiming for a significant recruiting win before signing day.

Back in March, USC landed a commitment from five-star athlete Honor Faāalave-Johnson. Faāalave-Johnson is the Trojansā highest-ranked commit in their 2027 recruiting class that currently ranks in the top five in the country.
But with signing day still nearly seven months away, will Faāalave-Johnson remain locked in with the Trojans? Well, not if an old friend has his way. According to a report late last week, Steve Sarkisian and Texas are pushing hard to try and flip the five-star recruit from USC.
āAccording to Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Gorney, two Texas coaches visited the five-star this week, including [defensive coordinator] Will Muschamp,ā Trey Luerssen of Longhorns Wire wrote. āAnother UT coach is scheduled to visit Fa'alave-Johnson next week.
āIt would be one of the biggest recruiting coups in Texas history, certainly in the [head coach] Steve Sarkisian era, if Texas was to pry the DB away from Southern Cal, whose defensive coordinator is former TCU coach and Texas analyst Gary Patterson. The Will Muschamp factor could be a big player in this developing story.ā
Faāalave-Johnson is one of the top overall players in the class of 2027. Rivalsās Industry Ranking currently has him as the No. 18 overall player and the No. 1 athlete in the class.
Obviously, losing Faāalave-Johnson would be a brutal blow for USCās 2027 recruiting class. It would be especially unfortunate if he flipped to Texas of all schools, given Sarkisianās history with the Trojans. Lincoln Riley and Chad Bowden must lock in and ensure that USC is able to hold off Texasās advances and keep one of the top players in the 2027 class.
