GREEN BAY – With a nickname like “The Fridge,” you’d expect Texas Tech’s Lee Hunter to be able to stop the run.

Hunter is one of the players the Green Bay Packers hosted on a top-30 pre-draft visit. He posted a photo he took at the Packers’ facility on April 15.
Texas Tech defensive lineman Lee Hunter tackles Central Florida's Jaden Nixon.
After one season at Auburn (he redshirted), he transferred to Central Florida and started 23 of 38 games, earning second-team all-Big 12 honors after leading the team with 9½ tackles for loss (one sack).

There isn’t much sack production with Hunter (eight total), but he had 32½ tackles for loss, which shows he played a lot on the other side of the line of scrimmage. He projects as an early-down player in the NFL who can draw double-teams and penetrate gaps on occasion.
“I’m high energy, a football player,” Hunter said at the NFL scouting combine. “You’re going to love me in the locker room. You’re going to feel my presence.”
