Texas vs Texas A&M series final canceled. Here's what's next for Longhorns | Golden

COLLEGE STATION â No. 2 Texas baseball entered Game 3 on Sunday looking to avoid the broom. No. 18 Texas A&M wanted to give their fan base a coveted three-game sweep over their heated rival.
Neither got its wish.

Mother Nature had the last say.
Sunday's series finale was called off due to inclement weather in College Station. The cancellation came more than eight hours after the scheduled 1 p.m. start.
Aggie fans behind the Texas dugout chanted "Scared! Scared!" as the visitors left the field and made their way to the team bus. This came after a couple hours spent yelling "Let them play!" as the tarp sat there unmoving in the infield.
Each team will enter the week with records of 27-7 overall and 9-5 in SEC play, which is second behind Georgia. The Horns, after a pair of losses here, host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Tuesday before a home weekend set against No. 8 Alabama. The Aggies host Houston on Tuesday then play three games at LSU, starting Friday.

Rain rain, go away
The rains came intermittently from 11 a.m., with several lightning delays that pushed the start time.
Eight Union Pacific trains rolled through on the tracks separating Blue Bell Park from massive Kyle Field, located on the other side of Wellborn Drive.

Through the miracle of the internet, press box dwellers were able to take in several events, from Rory McIlroy defending his Masters title to Texas softball's Katie Stewart's walk-off homer and bat spike to stave off a sweep at the hands of top-ranked Oklahoma. The stadium video operator even showed A&M softball's Game 3 win over Ole Miss. Several players showed up around 8 p.m. to join in some "BTHO TU." Did I mention the softball game was played in Oxford, Miss.
Texas A&M football coach Mike Elko was the belle of the ball as he waved across the stadium to adoring fans who chanted his name since there was little else to do. Elko even signed the costume of the Aggies' recently famous "hot dog guy" who got plenty of ESPN TV run Saturday in Game 2.

What happens next?
The home matchup against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is a chance to regain some equilibrium but we wonât find out anything until the weekend conference series against the Crimson Tide.

Before this weekend, the Horns hadnât taken a series loss since the Florida Gators came to Austin to grab two of three near of the end of the 2025 regular season. This was only their third series loss under Schlossnagle.
