According to a report by On3, former UT guard Jordan Lee has committed to South Carolina. Lee entered the transfer portal last week and was seen at a South Carolina baseball game earlier on Tuesday.

As a first-time starter, Lee made significant strides during the 2025-26 season. The six-foot sophomore was the Longhorns' second-leading scorer at 13.2 points per game, and she made 72 of the team's 164 3-pointers (no other Longhorn made more than 23 deep shots). Lee was additionally one of UT's top perimeter defenders this past season.

But Lee also suffered through a notable shooting slump during the middle of the season, and she then missed 21 of the 26 shots that she took during UT's Elite Eight and Final Four games.

Neither Lee nor UT coach Vic Schaefer have publicly commented on her decision to transfer from Texas. That, though, will be an unavoidable storyline this upcoming winter. The Longhorns and Gamecocks will play at least once during the 2026-27 season, and multiple meetings should probably be assumed. Due to the NCAA Tournament, SEC Tournament, the Players Era event in Las Vegas and the SEC's regular-season scheduling, Texas and South Carolina have played each other seven times over the past two seasons.
Both Lee and Texas forward Justice Carlton, who were respectively the No. 9 and No. 12 prospects in the 2024 recruiting cycle, have left the Longhorns and entered the transfer portal this offseason. Guard Aaliyah Crump has also reportedly moved on to Duke after one year with the Longhorns.
