USC safety Kamari Ramsey is projected to be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 117th pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The Raiders aim to strengthen their defense, particularly at the safety position.
Over the last few seasons, many USC Trojans have been drafted to an organization and made their mark early. It was more of a quiet class last year, but this upcoming class will feature many Trojans at pivotal positions. One is safety Kamari Ramsey.
The Athletic dropped its latest mock draft before next Thursday. Dane Brugler has the Raiders taking safety Kamari Ramsey with pick 117 in the 4th round:
The Raiders took many big swings to address their poor defense this offseason. Ironically, the Raiders also ended up keeping Maxx Crosby after the Ravens got cold feet. The Raiders' defense could be massively improved, but one area of weakness still remains at the safety position. Former Trojan Isaiah Pola-Mao is a solid piece on the back end, but another Trojan safety could give the Raiders a complete safety duo.
Kamari Ramsey has a ton of upside, and he would give Vegas much-needed versatility. The Raiders' run defense and defense vs the pass will be improved, adding an all-around baller in Kamari Ramsey.
