The biggest question facing every WNBA team in training camp
WNBA training camps open with key questions for each team.
Ja'Kobi Lane is projected to be a standout player in the NFL, potentially drafted in 2026. The Buffalo Bills are highlighted as an ideal destination for him to thrive alongside quarterback Josh Allen.
Many NFL organizations have great success adding talent to a championship culture. Teams with a great culture usually tend to see rookies become stars at a higher rate. Ja'Kobi Lane has star written all over him, yet he remains a player that might go off the board later in the 2026 NFL draft. With some contending teams still having big needs at receiver, I think he is a player to watch.
Here are some destinations where I think Ja'Kobi Lane can be a star in the NFL:
The Bills made a big addition with trading for D.J. Moore this offseason, but still, after him, there is no threat on the outside that teams have to worry about. Keon Coleman has been a miss so far; Khalil Shakir would be a more serviceable #3 wide receiver. Ja'Kobi Lane would be the perfect #2 receiver for the Bills. He and Josh Allen will connect on many highlight reel plays. Lane, D.J. Moore, and Khalil Shakir will be the exact wide receiver trio that Josh Allen has been needing.
The Ravens have Zay Flowers, who is a weapon that can win in the slot and make plays after the catch. Ja'Kobi Lane already played with a guy like that in college at USC. He would compliment Zay perfectly, just as he did with Lemon. Rashod Bateman was a disappointment this past season; the Ravens need a more reliable big-bodied outside receiver, and Lane fits that exact mold. I think Lane would be the exact target that Lamar Jackson has been missing during his entire tenure in Baltimore.
The Chiefs do not have a reliable weapon at receiver just yet. They have guys with upside, but their top weapon, Rashee Rice, has a lot of off-the-field concerns. Travis Kelce is getting older, Ja'Kobi Lane would be a steal for the Chiefs. He is a true weapon, and in the right hands, I think he can be special. Landing with Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid is as good as it gets for a young player.
Tetairoa McMillan made a huge impact for the Panthers as a rookie, winning rookie of the year, and helped lead the Panthers back to the playoffs. Why not double dip? Jalen Coker is a stud in the slot. Having Tetairoa McMillan and Ja'Kobi Lane on the outside would be dangerous. Bryce Young took a step forward this past season; it is time for him to build on that. Getting him another outside weapon is how the Panthers can best assist that. I think Lane could be highly successful in Carolina with Bryce and McMillan.
The 49ers added Mike Evans in free agency, and he is a good piece for the short term, but for the future, all the 49ers have is Ricky Pearsall, someone who they do not seem all that confident in. Pearsall has had trouble being on the field consistent. Ja'Kobi Lane is a reliable playmaker who could get developed playing under Mike Evans and end up being the star of this room in the future. While he is developing, he can still be a guy who makes a big impact as a rookie.

The Buffalo Bills are identified as a top destination for Ja'Kobi Lane, where he could excel as a #2 receiver.
Despite his potential to become a star, Ja'Kobi Lane may be selected later in the draft due to the depth of talent at the receiver position.
Ja'Kobi Lane could enhance the Bills' offense by forming a dynamic receiving trio with D.J. Moore and Khalil Shakir, providing quarterback Josh Allen with more options.
Ja'Kobi Lane is considered a promising prospect due to his potential to thrive in a strong team culture and his ability to connect on big plays with quarterbacks.
