The big news from Chelsea’s starting XI today is that teenage attacker Jesse Derry gets a start.

But the big news from the team sheet overall is that Levi Colwill is back on the bench.

The defender picked up an ACL injury in the very first training session of preseason, and has been out ever since. He’s had a few weeks back in training now, and is finally considered ready for a spot on the bench.

There’s no reason he will come on – it’s more likely just a question of a morale boost for the defender after 9 long months of rehab.

We expect he will get a start before the season is out, with Sunderland on the final day looking like a prime chance to give him a run out.
