Do the Los Angeles Dodgers have a new hit celebration?
It seems possible, as Alex Callās ninth inning RBI single versus the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday wasnāt followed by the common hip lock.
Instead, he offered up a high kick back toward his teammates.
As detailed by Jack Harris of the California Post, Dodgers players arenāt being too forthcoming about the origins of the new celebration.
One player told Harris that they āneeded to kick away the negativity,ā likely referencing the team-wide slump that had cost the Dodgers four straight games before Sunday.

While itās unconfirmed thus far, another popular theory has emerged.
Saturday night, the Dodgers fell just short to the Cardinals 3-2, as a two-out rally in the ninth inning ending with a Dalton Rushing strikeout.
Video shared to social media shows Rushing unleashing a high kick as he returned to the dugout, nearly hitting star pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto in the face.
āIt looked like he was messing with him and Yama flinched a bit so maybe Call saw this go down or itās become a trend amongst all the guys,ā explained Dodgers Nationās Noel Sanchez.
As mentioned, the Dodgers are really struggling when it comes to hitting with runners in scoring position.
Manager Dave Roberts has indicated that thereās some sort of illness thatās been going around the clubhouse, and itās been affecting at-bats.
Hopefully, the Boys in Blue are all on their way to recovery, and if a new celebration is whatās needed to give the guys confidence at the plate, we might be seeing more of the high kick.
Sanchez said he likes the new celebration, though he noted that there could be some health concerns.
āI honestly am a fan of this new hit celly from Call and if they keep it, I just hope the guys are stretching out well so they donāt pull anything when they kick,ā he said.
