Texas A&M’s historic start to the 2026 NFL Draft continued through Day 2, with seven Aggies selected just one behind Ohio State’s eight, marking one of the program’s strongest two‑day stretches in school history. Among the teams most impressed with A&M’s talent pipeline were the Jacksonville Jaguars, who doubled down on Aggies with their first two picks.
Jacksonville opened its draft by selecting tight end Nate Boerkircher with the No. 56 overall pick in the second round, then added defensive tackle Albert Regis at No. 81 in the third. Both will join former Aggie standout Antonio Johnson, now a key piece of the Jaguars’ secondary.
Boerkircher’s rise is the kind coaches love to champion from walk‑on to second‑round pick. After a strong season in College Station, he elevated his stock even further with standout performances at the all‑star circuit and the NFL Combine.
His blend of reliable hands and physical blocking makes him one of the more complete tight ends in this class. He was the third tight end drafted, coming off the board just a few spots after fellow former Aggie Eli Stowers, who landed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Regis, meanwhile, was one of the most durable and respected veterans on A&M’s roster, appearing in 51 career games. His final season was among his best, posting 49 tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks while anchoring a defensive line that entered the year with questions after three starters departed for the NFL. His leadership and interior disruption made him a stabilizing force throughout the season.
And for Regis, the moment wasn’t a surprise; he already had a strong indication Jacksonville would be the pick, thanks to an insider tip, which you can view below.
