The Bill Belichick era in New England might be over... but the Patriots are still cheaters.

OK, so maybe Mike Vrabel hasnât actually confessed to anything, but we can read between the lines. Everything he hasnât said this week is speaking loudest.
First, there was that useless press conference Tuesday where he didnât directly address the photos of him and Dianna Russini (or even mention her name at all). Someone unfamiliar with that situation wouldnât even have a clue what he was talking about.
He didnât take accountability for anything, nor did he attempt to clear up any misconceptions about what happened. Notably, he didnât even fall back on his original statement that the photos were a âcompletely innocent interaction.â
He only offered that it was a âpersonal and private matterâ and that he had some âdifficult conversations with people I care about.â Which said more than enough.
It was a cowardly half-confession that only served the purpose of allowing the Patriots to say they addressed it before flipping the page to this weekâs NFL draft. The implications left Russini as collateral damage following her resignation from The Athletic last week.
For some reason, though, Vrabel decided to roll over Russini with the bus he threw her under by announcing Wednesday heâs seeking counseling this weekend and wonât be with the team for the third day of the draft. Which seemed completely unnecessary.
Not the counseling â that might be necessary. But the announcement and timing of it.
âI have always wanted to lead by example, and I believe this is what I have to do to be the best husband, father and coach that I possibly can be,â Vrabel said. âThis is not an easy thing for me to admit, but it is one that I know will make me a better person.â
Iâve never seen someone slow-leak a confession quite like this. Wouldn't it have been more effective to simply issue a public apology from the jump, then seek counseling privately?

Mike Washington Jr. is a sleeper in this draft.
It's draft day, y'all! And until the NFL gets rid of it, like all leagues should, FTW has you covered with everything you need for the first round, including the biggest position needs for all 32 teams and Christian D'Andrea's latest two-round mock draft.
In the meantime, let's talk running backs. We already know Jeremiyah Love is the consensus best player at the position, but how familiar are you with Arkansas' Mike Washington? He might be the biggest RB sleeper, according to Christian D'Andrea:
"Washington pairs elite speed (4.33s 40) with a big frame, though at 6-foot-1 he runs a bit more upright than compact, limiting his short-yardage utility despite a 223-pound frame. Don't confuse that with an inability to break through tackles, however. He has the leg drive to churn forward and break free. The man is a menace when given the chance to run downhill, ripping off runs of 20-plus yards in nine of his dozen games as a Razorback."
