The PGA Tour warned they could face a potential problem if Bryson DeChambeau returns

“If you’re the PGA Tour executives, you would want him back into the fold. He’s an immensely popular player. The reason why I also had him at number two on my consensus big board is that I do worry about his longevity,” he said.

“He turns 33 years old later on this fall. He’s already, not just hinted, but suggested that he could be satiated by other interests outside of professional golf, just going and leaning in full-time on YouTube content creation. And so, regardless of if he’s playing the Truist Championship or he’s playing the Travelers Championship, he’s always going to have his mind elsewhere. The major championships are where his legacy and his tradition are going to be wrapped up and what his resume is eventually going to look at.

“I think even when he was a full-time PGA Tour player, he was always interested in something else. I think if you’re the PGA Tour, you’re a little bit leery of that sort of scenario. Is he half-hearted in some of his PGA Tour attempts where I think Jon Rahm would be trying to make amends and try and repair some of his reputation.”

DeChambeau has previously spoken of the PGA Tour events he would love to have the opportunity to play again.

As reported by Golf Monthly back in 2023, DeChambeau said he would be keen to tee it up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, the Memorial, and the Genesis Invitational.

He also expressed his desire to play Travelers Championship, the RBC Heritage, and the Rocket Classic. So perhaps those tournaments may ultimately tempt him back if it becomes clear that LIV is nearing the end.
