There is growing concern over Marc Marquezâs future in MotoGP following his crash at Le Mans, but Ducati are standing by their statement that he remains under contract for the next two years.
The Spaniard underwent surgery on his right shoulder and foot on Sunday. Marquez was scheduled to have one on his shoulder anyway, due to the complications he has been facing in MotoGP this season.
The injury was made worse during a Sprint race accident at the French Grand Prix, where a heavy highside left him with a fractured foot. This has forced him out of the upcoming Barcelona round as well.
The defending champion is now beginning his rehabilitation, and he is confident that his recovery will not take too long.
However, questions about Marquezâs future continue to grow after another serious crash and injury. Some are starting to wonder if this could be the incident that leads him to step away from racing when his contract ends in 2026.
