Athletes from Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend will have more than five dozen entries into the 2026 UIL State Track & Field Championships, scheduled for May 14-16 at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.
Kingsville junior JB Kazanjian leads the pack, having qualified in all five of her individual events, including as the regional champion in the 100, 100 hurdles, 200 as well as the long jump.
Two Class 5A boys field athletes go into the state meet as the top seed in their respective events.
Veterans Memorial's Brody Garcia is the top seed in high jump (6-11¼) and Gregory-Portland's Ryder Harrison is atop the qualifiers in pole vault (16-6).
