The new guy, Bryan, is an undrafted free agent signing after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft.
They aren't the same position, and it's not a given Bryan will make the team.

The promising thing about Bryan is that he raised his tackles for loss and his sacks in each of his college seasons, always rising from one to the next.
In 2025, Bryan made 41 tackles, including 10.0 for loss, and had 7.0 sacks. He also forced three fumbles.
Also worth noting here: Bryan Sr. was an NFL player who spent 11 seasons with the New York Jets, so this is a second-generation NFL player here. Bryan Jr. will know what it takes to make it in professional football.
All told, there are a bunch of cool possible narratives here. Bryan's next task will be to make the Jags' roster, and then the storylines can go from there.
