The Bridgeport Islanders clinched a playoff spot after defeating the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-1, securing at least one more home game at Total Mortgage Arena. This victory extends their home winning streak to a franchise-record 10 games as the team prepares to move to Hamilton, Ontario next season.
After 25 years, some attendance issues and a white-knuckle winter for fans in anticipation of their move to Canada, the Bridgeport Islanders went out as winners.
And in doing so, they earned at least one more home game for fans at Total Mortgage Arena.
Bridgeport defeated the Hartford Wolf Pack, 4-1, on Sunday to extend its home winning streak to a franchise-record 10 games and clinch a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs.
The Islanders announced last month that the team is moving to Hamilton, Ontario next season, following months of speculation about its future.
Despite the news, the Islanders have been red-hot down the stretch and currently sit in fourth place in the AHL’s Atlantic Division. The team has three regular-season games remaining, all on the road, beginning with a rematch at Hartford on April 15.

If the current standings hold, Bridgeport would host No. 5 seed Hershey in the first round of the playoffs in a best-of-three series, with two games at home.
The Islanders finished dead last in the AHL in each of the last two seasons before this year. It’ll be their 11th postseason bid in their 25-year history, and first since 2022.
