Bournemouth reach agreement to appoint Rose as Iraola successor
Bournemouth has reached an agreement to appoint Marco Rose as their new head coach, succeeding Andoni Iraola.
Kevin Levy, a true freshman cornerback for Rutgers football, is gaining attention for his potential to take on a larger role. Former teammate Robert Longerbeam has praised Levy's talent and encouraged him to exceed expectations.
PISCATAWAY – Kevin Levy was just a young cornerback in his true freshman season with Rutgers football when one of his more experienced teammates took notice of his talent and skillset.
And Robert Longerbeam made sure Levy knew it.
Longerbeam, who during his time in a Scarlet Knights uniform developed into one of the top cornerbacks in the Big Ten, heaped praise onto Levy that came with some high expectations.
“He was more like a brother to me, still to this day,” Levy said following a recent spring practice. “We talk every now and then. He always checks up on me. It means a lot just watching him, seeing what he could do and him telling me, ‘Man, you could be way better than me.’ Just telling me I could go do it.”
Here's where Rutgers football's QB battle stands right now

Levy could be on the cusp of getting to show just how good he can be.
Rutgers needs to replace all of its starting cornerbacks this season and Levy, entering his third year with the program, is high up on the list to be among the players to step into one of those roles.
The Scarlet Knights added several cornerbacks via the transfer portal this offseason – including Kevyn Humes, who was at Maryland – to add some depth and experience.
But don’t overlook Levy, who’s impressed the coaching staff, including Schiano. And given Schiano’s history of developing high-level defensive backs, that speaks volumes.
"I think Kevin's just made up his mind, 'It's time,'" Schiano said. "The way he prepared all offseason, in the winter program, came out in spring, and just kept it up. He's performing with confidence, attention to detail, taking care of his body, all the things that a big-time player does, he's doing. And he's got the God-given ability. So if he can just continue on that trajectory, he's going to be a really good corner."

The 6-foot, 170-pound Levy was a three-star recruit out of Cardinal Newman High School in West Palm Beach – he was also a wide receiver in high school. He picked Rutgers from a top five that also included Illinois, Florida State, Kentucky and Louisville.
Levy’s playing time to his point has been somewhat limited. He played in two games as a true freshman in 2024 and eight last season.
But his development has been evident.
“I feel way more comfortable than I was previous years,” Levy said. “I feel like I’m ready to take that next step and it’s time to show everyone what I could do.”
A big reason for that?
It’s hard not to improve when going against Rutgers’ wide receivers every day in practice, a talent unit headed by KJ Duff.
“I love going against our receivers,” Levy said. “It gets me better every day. When game time comes it’s easier because we’ve been competing against those guys all year round. I love our receiver corps, they get us better every day. We always go at it. It’s good competition.”
The type of competition Levy would see game in and game out as a starting Big Ten cornerback, a role he’s hoping to earn once the season begins.
Levy’s been on a steady trajectory during his time with Rutgers.
“I feel like I’ve grown more as a person in general,” Levy said. “Just getting older, becoming more of a leader and knowing how things are supposed to be done at Rutgers.”

Kevin Levy is a true freshman cornerback for Rutgers football, recognized for his talent and potential to play a larger role in the team.
Robert Longerbeam praised Kevin Levy's talent and encouraged him by stating that he could become even better than Longerbeam himself.
Kevin Levy considers Robert Longerbeam a brotherly figure who has provided guidance and support, which has positively impacted Levy's development.
There are high expectations for Kevin Levy to take on a larger role in the Rutgers football team, especially after receiving encouragement from experienced teammates.
