Queensberry promoter Frank Warren shares his thoughts on this past weekendâs heavyweight title fight where Daniel Dubois reclaimed a belt against Fabio Wardley. In a conversation with talkSPORT, Warren gives his reaction to the fight, whether he believed Wardley shouldâve been stopped sooner, and whether or not there will be a rematch.
âWell, look at the punches that he took and he got up and he gritted his teeth and got on with it, and heâs matured and he boxed extremely wellâŠIt was magnificent. And anybody who doubts Daniel now, I donât know what planet theyâre on. Heâs matured mentally and Iâve believed in him, weâve stuck with him.â
âWell there is a rematch clause but it wonât happen for a while because itâs going to take a long time. I sent Fabio a message yesterday, heâs home now safely with his family and heâs got to recover, as has Daniel. Those fights take a lot out of you and itâs definitely a fight I suppose all the fans would like to see. Whether it happens or not, I donât know, but thatâs going to be down to Fabio and his team.â
âHeâs had quite a few stitches and heâs obviously down because he got beat, but he gave a massively great account of himself, and now itâs all about him spending time with his family and his new daughter. So thatâs what heâll do and when the timeâs right, weâll see.â

âI think it did. But I know what the thought process behind them was because that fact what he did in both the fights with Huni and Parker, how he pulled it out the bagâŠbut he didnât take the punishment of the Parker and Huni fight as he did against Daniel, and Daniel is a phenomenal puncher.
