LSU baseball hoped to bounce back after dropping Game 1 to Texas A&M, but LSU fell short again on Saturday, losing 7-2 and dropping the series in the process. William Schmidt got the start and the Aggies offense remained hot. A&M didn’t have any issues seeing Schmidt’s pitches as they chased him from the game after 5.1 innings. He gave up seven runs on seven hits, striking out four and issuing four walks.
Another SEC series has gone down the drain as LSU has now lost four out of its six conference series. LSU will get a chance to try and avoid the sweep on Sunday before taking on New Orleans on Tuesday. Next week, LSU heads to Starkville to face Mississippi State.

For the second night in a row, Steven Milam hit a solo homer to put LSU on the board. Unfortunately, he was only one of five total hits against the Aggies. The Tigers struggled to hit the ball in Game Two.
The bullpen performed well for the Tigers tonight. The bullpen combined to pitch 3.2 innings and did not give up any runs on three hits, four strikeouts, and one walk. All of the runs allowed came against William Schmidt.
LSU has now lost four out of six SEC series this season. It has been a cacophony of errors that has led us here. Injuries, errors, walks, and bad hitting at times have put LSU in a bad situation this season. Jay Johnson said it was his fault that the team was underperforming, but that is a hard pill to swallow.
