OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — The Thunder and all their fans will yet again be keeping an eye on Friday night’s NBA playoff action to see who they will match up with in Round 2.
The Lakers and Rockets tip off Game 6 at 8:30 p.m. on Prime.
We got the chance to chat with Thunder sideline reporter Paris Lawson about everything that’s ahead for the squad and what threats each team poses to the Thunder.
As we all know, the Thunder stormed through Round 1 of the NBA playoffs. They pulled out the brooms against the Phoenix Suns for a 4-game sweep.
Cheer on the OKC Thunder and win playoff tickets
Ever since, it’s been a waiting game.
“The Thunder earned this right,” Lawson said during an interview on CW 43’s Rise and Shine show.
Lawson added that they got some time to go home, rest, and get healthy. However, it’s a time for them to go back and check the tape.
“They’ll go back, they’ll look at the lessons they can learn from that series,” she said. “They are not sitting idly by right now.”
The Thunder won the regular-season series against both the Rockets and L.A. They went 2-1 against Kevin Durant and Houston and 4-0 against LeBron James’ Lakers.
“The Rockets, they’re a team that has been a challenge for the Thunder just in terms of their defense. It’s a really good test of going up against a really strong defense in the Houston Rockets,” Lawson said. “Then, you have a Lakers team that’s a little more offensively potent, I should say.”
The Thunder will face either the Lakers or the Rockets, depending on the outcome of their Game 6.
The Lakers and Rockets Game 6 is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m.
The Thunder swept the Phoenix Suns in the first round, winning all four games.
Both the Lakers and Rockets present unique challenges, which Thunder sideline reporter Paris Lawson discusses.

She said it’s a good challenge either way, but one that she feels the Thunder are ready for with the experience they’ve gained over the years. According to Lawson, they continue to learn from each game and grow from there, with some help from the loud and loyal, of course.
“All of that energy, it spills over into the game, and the Thunder have utilized all of that,” she said. “It’s really the wind in their sails in these playoffs.”
