Ticket prices for the Ryder Cup in 2027 are ridiculous and deserve calling out

Preparations for the 2027 Ryder Cup are ramping up, but the tournament has already netted a huge own goal over ticket prices.

Adare Manor in County Limerick, Ireland, plays host to the competition, which runs from September 13-19 next year.

But immediately setting a negative tone for the prestigious event are the newly confirmed ticket prices, which are certain to deter golf fans in a major way.

Shockingly, a daily ticket for the action across Friday, Saturday and Sunday for residents of the island of Ireland costs €499 ($585).

The huge figure is a real blow to residents of the island of Ireland, who would have been eager to support the home team against their American rivals.

But many European fans will have already made up their minds about avoiding the Ryder Cup altogether following the ridiculous ticket prices.

With Team Europe playing on home soil, an electric atmosphere should be a priority, with the various European venues over the years having produced exactly that.

But many Irish fans will undoubtedly point-blank refuse to pay such an extortionate fee to watch relatively little action in comparison to other golf tournaments.

There has been plenty of excitement ahead of the Ryder Cup returning to Ireland, but much of that excitement has quickly and understandably evaporated amid the latest news.
