In his latest start against the Red Sox, Framber Valdez was having a pretty rough day. After allowing back-to-back home runs in the fourth inning, Trevor Story came out to bat. Valdez struck Story with a fastball near the head, which triggered a benches-clearing incident between the Tigers and the Red Sox.
The Tigers' ace was immediately ejected from the game after he pitched the worst outing of his career, allowing 10 runs in just over three innings.
The incident also led MLB to fine Tigers manager AJ Hinch for one game, along with an undisclosed fine. This means Hinch won't be present in the Tigers' dugout for their game on Wednesday against the Red Sox.
